Microchip Identification

Pets can’t talk, and if they become lost, they need help finding their way back to you. Microchipping is a modern and permanent pet identification system, and it is available at Bassler Veterinary Hospital. Each microchip is equipped with a unique number that can be traced to you if you and your pet become separated. But the process doesn’t stop with the microchip; without registration, the microchip is useless. At Bassler Veterinary Hospital, we complete this process by registering your pet for you.

Natural Approach

At Bassler Veterinary Hospital, our goal is to help your pet live a long and healthy life with you. We strive to reach our goal through preventive care. Offering good nutrition and exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, and providing a low-stress environment can contribute to good health. To augment this preventive approach, we discuss vaccine and parasite prevention plans with you, tailored to fit your pet’s lifestyle. These preventive measures help boost your pet’s own immune system so that your pet is able to stay healthy naturally.
When your pet isn’t well and needs more help, we try natural approaches whenever possible. Our philosophy is based on current scientific knowledge and modern medical advances. Natural remedies, including probiotics, healthy oils, Class IV laser, and silymarin (from the milk thistle plant), are both safe and effective. Other natural products, such as Yunnan bai-you and I’m-Yunity, may be a treatment option for terminally ill pets. These natural approaches are available at Bassler Veterinary Hospital.

Although less common in cats, some feline breeds are brachycephalic, too. Persians are one example. At Bassler Veterinary Hospital, we are knowledgeable and trained to take proper care of your brachycephalic pet, whether it barks or meows.
