We were excited to have Kaitlyn join the BVH crew in 2020! Kaitlyn graduated from UMass Amherst’s prestigious Mount Ida Campus where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. Kaitlyn is proud to have gained her new title as Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) after passing the state’s Board Examinations.

Before joining the team at Bassler Veterinary Hospital, Kaitlyn worked as an Emergency and Critical Care Technician at a Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital near Boston. That position allowed her to gain valuable experience in emergency and trauma medicine as well as providing round-the-clock nursing care to critical patients.

Kaitlyn has always had a passion for animals. She started off her career volunteering at MSPCA Nevins Farm, walking the shelter’s dogs in high school. Since then, Kaitlyn found herself periodically helping the shelter’s surgical department, aiding in the pre-op and post-op care of animals at the Spay & Neuter Clinic.

During college, Kaitlyn had the opportunity to travel to Belize where she worked closely with local veterinarians and students to provide much needed medical care to the community’s animals. She participated in spay neuter clinics and livestock vaccination programs.

When not at work, you can find Kaitlyn spending time with friends and family, and enjoying Taco Tuesdays. And at the end of each day, she’s cuddling her fur-baby, Riley (even if he doesn’t want to accept her love!).
