SALISBURY – Bassler Veterinary Hospital has been named one of the nation’s best veterinary hospitals by USA Today.

The newspaper evaluated more than 11,000 facilities in deciding who would make the cut. Its criteria included assessments by veterinary professionals and pet owners, as well as accreditation.

Bassler Veterinary Hospital ranked fifth in Massachusetts and 152 nationally, and was the only veterinary facility in the area to make the list.

“We are delighted with this honor,” said Dr. Heidi Bassler the hospital owner and sole veterinarian. “This is a testament to how hard we work at doing all little things right and to the dedication of our staff. We are so proud to be part of this wonderful community.”

Located at 1 Merrill St. at the intersection of Interstate 95, Bassler Veterinary Hos-pital has been in operation since 2011. Bassler is also a cat-friendly certified veterin- arian and her hospital is among the small group of veterinary practices, only about 15% nationally, accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association.
